Consultants ADAS were commissioned by the Office of Environmental Protection (OEP) to undertake a comprehensive review of the sustainable management of agricultural soils in England. The views expressed in its report are those of ADAS, and do not represent the opinion or position of the OEP.
The overall objective was to provide a critical appraisal of the current regulatory and governance frameworks, and government and non-government schemes supporting the sustainable management of agricultural soils in England. The outcome of the project will support the OEP’s ongoing monitoring and assessment of government’s aim in EIP23 to bring 40% of agricultural soils into sustainable management by 2028 and increase this to 60% by 2030.
